Little Questions

Today, my husband gave our 4 year old an empty box of New Castle to put his toys in. He was so happy when his daddy dropped it on the floor where he was playing. He put all of his race cars in it then he came to me and said, "I have a nice Daddy huh mommy? Where did you get him?" I wanted to laugh out loud when I heard this, but I answered his questions instead..."Yes James, you have the nicest Daddy in the world. I bought him at Bug Mart, he was on sale for $2." Then he said, "Really? So what about me? Where did you buy me?" After asking me this question, I suddenly started thinking...should i keep playing with his imagination or should I be telling him the right answers to his questions. But how do I answer his 2nd question? I only had a couple seconds to come up with a decent answer coz' this little guy is anxiously awaiting for an answer while standing right in front of me and looking me in the eye. And so I said, "I bought you at Walmart....just kidding... we don't buy people. Papa Jesus gave you to me." Then he quickly asked, "How much did you give to Papa Jesus?" At this point I felt like I just got myself in big trouble.
So I quickly said, "I didn't pay him any money." Then his daddy yells, "You were Free James." Needless to say, the conversation got more complicated. I had to explain to him why he was Free? And i had to answer more questions like "Where did Papa Jesus get me", "Where did you come from Mommy?", "What about my sister?"... until I had to slowly change the topic and try to get him back to playing with his toys.

It is amazing how these little brains work, isn't it?

Spring is here.

I can't believe this sunflower in our backyard is as big as a 3 month old baby's face.
Lot's of flowers are starting to bloom....lots of bees around them too.

Can't wait for Spring so we can see colors again. It is official in 4 days!
